I am not a big fan of the huge caramel apples. You never know how long they’ve been sitting on the store shelf and not to mention how in the world you eat them?! But now that I’ve found an easier way to enjoy them, it’s going to be a tradition every year!
Gather up all your favorite toppings and display them in a muffin tin or small bowls. Then decide what sauces you want.
- Peanut Butter Sauce
- Caramel Sauce
- Chocolate (milk or dark or both!)
- White Chocolate
- Butterscotch
Some ideas for toppings are
- Coconut flakes
- Chopped peanuts
- Sprinkles
- Cinnamon sugar
- Candy bars chopped
- Marshmallow
- Graham cracker
Then put your sauces in canning jars and place in a crockpot with water. But be VERY careful not to get any water in the chocolate sauces because it will cause it to seize up and be ruined. For the chocolate sauces, you can just chop up melting chocolates or use regular chips and put them in the jar. Put the crockpot on high for 1-2 hrs.
